The Rainier bag is a member of the Cascadia family and includes sophisticated features such as a wide gusset, optional piping, a back slip pocket, and a gusseted zipper to keep everything secure.
The finished size of this bag is approximately 7.5”h x 10.5”w x 3”d.

- The Rainier crossbody is rated adventurous beginner
Suggested material for the exterior: flexible vinyl, cork, or leather (based on your machine's abilities). You could also use canvas with the appropriate interfacing and stabilizer.
Suggested material for the interior: cotton woven, waterproof canvas, ripstop nylon
Material and Hardware requirements
MATERIAL (directional fabric may require a bit more)
- Exterior - cork/vinyl (1 roll); or bonded nylon (1/2 yard)
- Lining - waterproof canvas, ripstop nylon, or cotton woven (1/2 yard)
- Piping - 2 yards (optional)
- Interfacing (depending on fabric chosen)
- Decovil Light (or equivalent) for exterior
- Woven (SF101 or equivalent) for lining (cotton woven)
- Fleece or foam for exterior, for a more structured bag (according to machine’s ability)
HARDWARE
- Zipper, #5 size: 1 yard, 2 zipper pulls
- 1.5” strap webbing (2 yards) OR chain strap (length to preference) For an adjustable strap: (2) 1.5” lobster clasps, (1) 1.5” adjustable slider rectangle
- (1) Magnetic snap, Fancy/Decorative Snap OR twist lock (optional - only needed if adding the flap)
- (4-8) 8mm double cap rivets
Optional Sewing Tools
- 1/4” Cording/Piping Foot recommended if you are adding piping
- 1/8” Double Sided Tape OR Fabri-Tac fabric glue
- Hump jumper
