Meet Katie from My Little Shindig
I wanted to share a shop I’ve really been enjoying lately — My Little Shindig. Katie curates fabrics and bagmaking supplies in a way that makes sewing feel creative and approachable instead of overwhelming, and I think so many makers will appreciate that.Katie started My Little Shindig to help sewists spend less time worrying about coordinating materials and more time actually making something they’re excited about.
Everything is thoughtfully curated so projects feel inspiring right from the start. I also really appreciate that all of her bagmaking materials are selected to be domestic machine friendly, which makes trying new projects feel much more approachable for everyday makers.
What I especially like is the sense of community behind the brand. Between fabric clubs, sew-alongs, and events like Wingo, it feels welcoming and encouraging no matter your skill level.
One of Katie’s most-loved products is the Sew Fabulous Box, a bi-monthly subscription that was inspired by newer sewists who wanted to branch out into bagmaking but didn’t know where to start with coordinating materials. Each box includes carefully selected fabrics and supplies that work beautifully together while still giving plenty of flexibility for multiple projects.
What makes the Sew Fabulous Box especially fun is the community that comes with it. Katie regularly hosts sew-alongs, project inspiration, and community events that give makers a chance to create together, share ideas, and feel supported along the way. P.S. Have I mentioned that we like to have fun and laugh? We tried to take a nice photo with this Sasquatch statue at the Sew Expo in Puyallup this Spring… but Katie kept accidentally smacking into Sasquatch’s elbow and we absolutely lost it laughing.
